A little about me: I come from a little hole in the wall town called Newbern, Tennessee. To give you some perspective on just how unknown it is, Windows thinks its a misspelled word when I type it. I graduated from Dyer County High School at rank 1 in my class. I spent the first half of my high school career on the football team, and the other half as the editor-in-chief of the school newspaper. Fitness has been one of my passions ever since middle school. After I left the football team, my fitness became one of the focal points of my life. I am also an avid consumer of digital entertainment. I have a certain appreciation for the artistic nature of the video game industry, and have a love of films. I am currently focusing on my future as a fiction writer and finishing my degrees.
Boys and Girls Club of Chattanooga
Thanks to the UTC Innovations Lab course, I had the opportunity to be introduced to the boys and girls club in our city. The focus going in to the partnership was to find a way to make an innovation in young education. Over time, we ended up forming a sturdy connection with the club and generating plans of action which sparked much enthusiasm. The process of implementation was cut off due to the summer break, but I was fortunate enough to maintain the bond I had forged by being hired to work at the club as a counselor for the summer program. This has allowed me to solidify my presence and trust among the long time staff of the club, and I hope to redouble our innovation efforts when the rest of my team members are back in place.
